Selling your car
Is it free to list my car on Motorly?
Yes. A standard advert is free, with no listing fee. Enter your car’s details and photos, then confirm your email address with the code we send you and your advert goes live. Paid upgrades are optional.
List your car freeHow long does my advert stay up?
90 days. We email you 7 days before it ends. From 14 days before the end date you can renew it free from your account for another 90 days, as often as you like.
Go to your accountHow do I edit or remove my advert?
Sign in with the email address you listed with and open your account. You can change the price, mileage, county and description, pause the advert (hidden from buyers) and resume it, mark the car as sold, or remove the advert.
Manage your advertsHow do buyers contact me?
Buyers send an enquiry through Motorly. We forward it to the email address you verified, with the buyer’s email so you can reply directly. Your contact details are not shown on the advert. Your account shows whether each enquiry was accepted for delivery; we cannot guarantee it reaches your inbox rather than spam.
What do the paid upgrades give me?
Premium (€15, currently free with a launch offer applied at checkout) adds a clearly labelled Premium badge to your advert. Featured adds a clearly labelled Featured badge for 14 days (€49) or 30 days (€99). Upgrades do not change where your car appears in search results, and they never change its price badge.
Buying a car
Who am I buying from?
Adverts placed directly on Motorly are from sellers who verified their email address with us. Many other adverts are public adverts from other Irish marketplaces and dealers that Motorly compares; Motorly is not the seller, and you contact the advertiser on the original site. Each advert says which kind it is.
What does a price badge mean?
A price badge compares the asking price with the median asking price of similar cars for sale now. It needs at least five comparable cars, and we only show badges for car groups where our accuracy testing shows the badge is reliable. Otherwise you see the price range without a badge.
How price badges workWhat is a Buyer Briefing, and what does Plus add?
A Buyer Briefing (€5) gives the car’s market price position, a listing-history summary, advertised mileage context and a checklist for the viewing. Buyer Briefing Plus (€10) adds like-for-like comparables, a mileage-adjusted price where the adverts allow, and a suggested offer range with negotiation points. We check there is enough comparable data before you pay, and paid briefings are sent to your email. Neither checks outstanding finance, write-offs, stolen status, ownership history or official NCT history, so you still need an independent history check and inspection.
See Buyer BriefingsIs the free vehicle check really free?
Yes. The free check, price checker, VRT calculator and other tools need no account and no payment.
